Telehealth psychology
The same care, in your own space.
Telehealth sessions across Australia, delivered through a private, secure video platform — Medicare rebatable, available for ADHD assessment, autism therapy, anxiety treatment and ongoing support.
The lower-friction starting point
Telehealth was once an emergency substitute. It has since become a well-established delivery mode for psychological care, with research evidence supporting its effectiveness across most common presentations — including anxiety, depression, and trauma-focused work.
For many people, telehealth is the lower-friction starting point. You do not have to navigate an unfamiliar building, manage a sensory environment, or sit in a waiting room when your nervous system is already braced. You log in from somewhere you already feel reasonably safe.
Who telehealth suits
When telehealth is often the better option
Living outside Melbourne
Telehealth is available Australia-wide. For regional and remote Australians, it opens access to specialised therapy without travel.
Anxiety that makes leaving difficult
For people whose anxiety includes agoraphobic features, social anxiety, or health anxiety that makes attending appointments difficult, telehealth removes the part of the process that has been the obstacle.
Sensory considerations
For autistic clients and others with significant sensory needs, sessions from home — your lighting, your temperature, your control over interruption — are often less depleting than sessions in a clinic setting.
Practical scheduling
For carers, parents of young children, shift workers, and those whose work travel is unpredictable, telehealth slots — including evenings — can make consistent therapy possible where in-person attendance would not.
Platform, privacy and what to expect
Sessions are delivered through a private, encrypted, healthcare-grade video platform — not a generic consumer video tool. You will receive a session link in advance via email; clicking the link opens the session in your browser. No special software is required.
Confidentiality applies to telehealth in exactly the same way it applies to in-person sessions. The same professional and ethical standards govern what is shared, with whom, and under what circumstances. Sessions are not recorded.
For your end of the call, the practical asks are: a private space where you can speak freely, a stable internet connection, and headphones (which improve audio clarity and add a layer of privacy if other people are at home).
Medicare and telehealth
Telehealth psychology sessions are Medicare-rebatable on the same terms as in-person sessions. With a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, you can access up to 10 individual sessions per calendar year with a rebate of $98.95 per session.
The Medicare rebate is processed in the same way — your details on file allow the rebate to flow back to your nominated bank account, usually within a day or two of the session.
Telehealth availability
Including evening sessions
Telehealth slots include weekday evenings — useful for clients who work standard hours or have caring responsibilities during the day. See the contact page for current available hours.
